Welcome to TrailRoller.com, the home of some useful information about mountain biking trails in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties in Northern California. Take a look around...I have descriptions, maps and pictures for each of the various places I have ridden, which covers most of the accessible trails in the area. There are also a variety of individual ride descriptions, photos and some other links you may find useful.
I have been riding consistently and year-round for several years. My current totals are:
| 13,207 miles | 2,140,000 feet ascent (405 miles) |
Check out the Locations pages for more details about the places I have ridden, the maps and all the other interesting bits. The Consolidated Trail Map page has the whole list and a link to a Google Earth view of all of the trails.
Please don't forget to leave a note in my guestbook.
Recent Rides
Here are some of the more recent pictures and ride reports that you might find interesting. I don't write about every ride, but if there is something interesting I might write about it. Of course, "interesting" varies a lot. It might be a mood or a view, whining, being attacked by a suicide squirrel or just a fun ride. Generally, the pictures (fair) are better than the writing (weak), but I might do better with some encouragement.
The number of rides I get in vary depending on the weather, commitments at work or at home and a bunch of other factors. My more recent rides include:
| Location | Date |
|---|---|
| Soquel Demo Forest | 5/13/12 |
| Alpine Road | 5/8/12 |
| Fremont Older/Stevens Canyon | 5/6/12 |

| Arastradero | 4/24/12 |

Springtime!
Spring is here! The cool and wet weather ended suddenly and it got warm. This means that everything is growing and blooming, making it a great time for a ride out in the country where one can ride and stop and smell the wildflowers.

All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Slow Boy
To bastardize a famous movie line, "All work and no play makes Jack a slow boy." Right now, I am very slow. Long week after long week at work has left little time for riding or sleep and now I am paying for it.

Back in the Saddle Again
I have been sick and off the bike for about 3 weeks, but I finally felt well enough to saddle up and head back out on the trail. It was definitely good to be on the dirt again, I definitely paid the price for my "laziness".
